As a Journeyman Carpenter from Canada, my main training was in building wood frame houses. My training also included constructing formwork for concrete foundations as well as interior and exterior finishes of the houses. This included applying exterior wood or other finishes (such as vinyl siding), interior finishes such as wood or drywall (called gyproc in Canada) as well as installing doors and windows, door and window casings, and installing cabinetry.
